Our Services

One of the services that makes us unique is our delivery.  There is a small fee of $3 for this convenient service. We offer this service to our patients because we know that everyone's situation is different. Whether you are elderly, your work schedule won't allow you to come to the pharmacy, or you have a sick child at home, it is always our top priority to get you your medicine.  Delivery is usually the next day, unless it is a new medication such as an antibiotic or pain medicine called in by the doctor. If the doctor does call in a prescription for the same day, please call the pharmacy and let us know that you are needing it filled and delivered that day. In those cases, we will do our best to get the prescription to you on the same day. 

Understanding complicated medication regimens can be difficult to navigate.  Our trained pharmacy staff can provide a comprehensive medication review to patients in an effort to improve the desired outcomes.  This may include counseling on the correct usage of medications, drug interactions, and ways to save the customer money.  Our staff also works in conjunction with physicians to ensure that patients are receiving the best care for their overall health.

Have you ever felt like your prescriptions were scattered and never ready at the same time? If so, our FREE med-sync service is right for you! Here are some of the benefits of using our med-sync service.

• We line up normal monthly medications to be ready at the same time to be either delivered or picked up.
• A technician will review the patient's profile and reach out to the physician to get refills a week before they are due.
• Patient no longer needs to call in medications, unless it is a medication that is taken "as needed".
• Patient will receive a call once a month to note any changes in medication and to let the patient know when they can expect their medications, also known as their "sync date".
• On monthly phone call, patient may request that OTC items be put with their sync medications to provide added convenience.
• For every prescription that is filled with our med sync service, patients earn points to use towards any OTC items in the store!

We carry many OTC products in our store. If patients are having prescriptions delivered, they can ask the pharmacy staff to add OTC items to their order for added convenience. We also have a small gift section, that includes Candleberry Candles.  Below are some of the sections of products that we currently carry.

Immunizations

Our pharmacists are able to administer a variety of vaccines. Please call us in advance to make an appointment. We can also schedule vaccine clinics for groups/businesses and would be able to administer those vaccines at a specified location. We currently offer:

• COVID-19 Vaccine
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine
• Shingles Vaccine
• Pneumonia Vaccine
• TDaP Vaccine
• Hepatitis Vaccine
• Additional vaccines upon request

Testing

Our pharmacists are able to administer tests for:

• Flu A/B
• COVID-19
• Strep

The results take anywhere from 5-15 minutes and we are able to bill the patient's insurance, with no additional copays. Our pharmacists are also able to perform the testing while the patient remains in their vehicle, making the entire process as easy as possible. If a patient tests positive for Strep or Flu, the pharmacy can then dispense the necessary medication. 

Hume Pharmacy can compound basic creams, liquids, and ointments. For patients needing more advanced compounds, we are able to use Andrews Pharmacy, our sister pharmacy located in Shelbyville, KY, that specializes in compounding.

For patients who need their medications packaged, our sister pharmacy, Andrews Packaging Pharmacy, is located in the same building as Hume and takes care of all packaging patients. They provide both unit dose packaging and weekly planners.  The unit dose packaging is beneficial for caretakers needing to have their patients' medication in individual bubbles.  The weekly planners are beneficial for elderly patients, patients who are on several medications, or those who struggle with remembering to take their medication at the correct time.  Our packaging is monthly and includes slots for up to four times a day.  The benefit of both pharmacies being in the same location is that the staff at both pharmacies can engage in collaboration during transitioning from one pharmacy to the other, as well as the same drivers delivering to both Hume and Andrews Packaging patients.  This continuity of care is very beneficial to patients in that even though their needs may change and they may need a different level of pharmacy care, they will be taken care of in the same manner and by staff operating under the same core values.  Our goal at both pharmacies is to always meet the ever changing needs of each patient to the best of our ability.
